Most of us spend 4 years at college with one goal hammered into us: get a job.
What happens when we do get that 9-5 after graduation and we realize “Oh crap, this is actually the worst.” I suspect not everyone feels this way. Some live the consistent schedule (and the paycheck!), but what happens to the few of us left counting the minutes until 5 pm? Those of us who think there’s got to be something better than sitting inside going to meeting all day?
This podcast is living proof that you really can do anything after graduation. Work while you travel the world, start your own business, or freelance your way to financial freedom. The point is you have options, and this podcast is dedicated to showing you the many ways you can take the reins on your career.
Offbeat Grad is a podcast for all the 20-somethings who aren’t sure of their next steps. For those looking to try something new and hustle their way to success. About Samantha
Hi, I’m Samantha, but you can call me Sam. I’m a 20-something recent(ish) graduate from Orlando, FL. I graduated in 2017, and I can safely say I have no idea what I’m doing. I started blogging in college and was able to financially support myself with my little section of the web. This led me to question whether a “real” job was really the only path.
My suspicions were confirmed once I started the tried and true 9-5 path after graduation. I had supposedly landed my “dream job,” but I felt more depressed than ever. I dreaded waking up every day, and I knew I needed a way out. After 8 months, I quit, and I haven’t looked back since.
Now, am a full-time blogger, content writer, and podcast host. I can work from anywhere, and my time belongs 100% to me and no one else. I hope my journey inspires to you take your own risks!
